Disaster Food Assistance Available from December 13 to 15 in North Fort Myers
The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) has announced the activation of the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) for residents affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in several counties, including Lee. This initiative offers support to those who do not receive benefits from the regular SNAP program, providing temporary food assistance.
The designated location for Lee County will be the Lee Civic Center, located at 11831 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, with service from December 13 to 15, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those interested:
- If you already completed the online pre-registration but did not complete the phone interview, you can visit the Lee Civic Center to complete an in-person interview.
- If your phone interview was completed and approved, there is no need to attend the location. In this case, you will receive the EBT card directly by mail.
Shevaun Harris, DCF Secretary, reminded that current SNAP recipients are not eligible for D-SNAP and should not visit the locations.
