Millions of Americans will receive food assistance through their benefit cards this month, with payment dates varying by state
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients, also known as ‘Food Stamps,’ will receive payments of up to $1,751 this September, which will be deposited onto their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards. This financial support is designed to enable millions of U.S. households to purchase nutritious food and improve their well-being.
The amount of SNAP benefits varies depending on each family’s income and expenses, with figures ranging from $296 to a maximum of $1,751 per month. Although the federal government funds the program, state and local governments administer the payments, which means that recharge dates vary from state to state. For example, in California, beneficiaries with a case number ending in 01 will receive their payment earlier in the month, while in Rhode Island deposits are made on the same day for everyone.
