Walmart+ is Walmart’s membership program that includes free home delivery on orders over $35, gas savings, access to Paramount+ or Peacock, and many other perks. The regular price is $98 per year. For EBT cardholders, Walmart offers Walmart+ Assist, which cuts that price exactly in half: $49 per year or roughly $6.47 per month.
To sign up, visit walmart.com/plus/assist, log in with your Walmart account (or create one if you do not have one), and verify your eligibility by adding your EBT card. Important: the EBT card is used only as proof of eligibility — the monthly membership fee is charged to a separate payment method such as a debit or credit card.
Amazon Prime Access: Prime at half price
Amazon offers a similar program called Prime Access for low-income customers with an EBT card. Instead of the regular $139 per year that Prime normally costs, eligible users can access it for $69 per year — nearly half price. Prime includes free fast shipping on millions of products, access to Prime Video, Prime Music, Amazon Photos, and much more.
In addition to the membership discount, Amazon accepts EBT cards as a payment method for eligible food purchases on Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods for home delivery or store pickup. Kroger launched a verified savings program for SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid recipients in early 2026 that includes two main benefits: a permanent 20% discount on fresh fruits and vegetables and a 50% discount on the Kroger Boost membership, which includes unlimited free delivery and additional fuel discounts.
To access it, create an account at kroger.com, go to the memberships and savings section, select the eligibility verification program, and follow the steps to verify your EBT card. Once verified, discounts apply automatically on both in-store and online purchases.
Sam’s Club: up to 60% off membership
Sam’s Club, Walmart’s warehouse membership chain, also offers special discounts for new members who receive government assistance. SNAP recipients can access the Club membership with a 60% discount, or the Plus membership with $50 off. Sam’s Club sells food, household products, and much more in bulk quantities, which can mean significant savings for larger families.
Target Circle 360: 50% off for EBT users
Target offers its Target Circle 360 membership — which includes free shipping from all stores, early access to deals, and monthly freebies — at a 50% discount for customers who verify their eligibility with an EBT card, Medicaid, or another government assistance program.
Instacart+: discounted home delivery
Instacart, the grocery delivery platform that partners with Kroger, Aldi, Publix, Safeway, and dozens of other chains, also offers its Instacart+ membership at a discount for EBT users. The membership includes free unlimited delivery with no minimum order and discounts on service fees. For those who shop at multiple chains, it can be more flexible than Walmart+ or Amazon Prime.
Double Up Food Bucks: double your money on fresh produce
Finally, the Double Up Food Bucks program operates in more than 30 states and is perhaps the least known of all. When you use your EBT card to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets and retailers, the program gives you the same amount in additional credit — meaning for every dollar you spend on produce, you get another dollar for free.
