How payment dates are determined

  • Last digits of the case or SSN: most states assign the payment day based on this number.
  • Staggered cycles: payments are distributed throughout the month to different groups of beneficiaries.
  • EBT deposits: money is credited directly to the EBT card and is available for use at authorized retailers.

What to do if your deposit does not appear

  • Wait 24 hours: some deposits may take longer to reflect depending on the bank or retailer.
  • Check your balance: verify through the EBT phone line, website, or mobile app.
  • Review eligibility: make sure you recertified on time and that no documents are missing.
  • Contact your local agency: if the payment does not arrive within 24–48 hours, report the issue to your state or county office.
  • Report loss or theft: block and request a replacement card if you suspect unauthorized use.

Important reminders

  • The monthly amount depends on household size, income, and other eligibility factors.
  • Unused benefits usually roll over to the next month, but may expire after several months of inactivity depending on the state.
  • Schedules and rules may vary by state; always check your local official information.

If you are part of the groups scheduled from August 18 to 24, check your EBT card on your assigned date to confirm your deposit.
