The program will provide temporary food assistance in four counties with specific dates and requirements
The Secretary of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Shevaun Harris, has confirmed the activation of the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) in response to the damage caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This program is intended for residents of Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, and Taylor counties who do not currently receive benefits from the regular SNAP program.
The D-SNAP will allow affected families to receive temporary food assistance through in-person interviews at specific locations. Interested individuals should follow these instructions:
- Online Pre-registration: This step is recommended at www.myflfamilies.com/DSNAP before attending the locations. Pre-registration will be available from the first to the last day of each event.
- In-person interviews: Those who did not complete a phone interview must attend the corresponding location in their county to complete the process. Individuals who already completed their phone interview do not need to attend.
