Last Payments Before Black Friday and Thanksgiving in Texas

Millions of families will receive essential food assistance this week with the final scheduled deposits

In Texas, thousands of beneficiaries of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will receive their payments this week, strategically timed to coincide with Black Friday and Thanksgiving. This program, which replaces the former Food Stamps, helps low-income families access essential basic foods in the context of inflation.

The resources are provided to beneficiaries through the Lone Star Card (EBT Card), which allows beneficiaries to purchase items such as fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, and bread at supermarkets and farmers’ markets. However, the funds do not cover non-food items, hot prepared foods, or products like alcohol or supplements.

Expanded Support for Seniors and People with Disabilities

Under the Texas Simplified Application Project (TSAP), households with seniors over 60 years old or people with disabilities can benefit from a simplified process that grants them up to three years of continuous support, compared to the usual six months.

Payment Schedule for November

SNAP payments in Texas are distributed from the 1st to the 28th of each month, depending on the beneficiary’s Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number. This week, the final deposits are scheduled as follows:

  • November 24: EDG Numbers 82-85
  • November 25: EDG Numbers 86-88
  • November 26: EDG Numbers 89-92
  • November 27: EDG Numbers 93-95
  • November 28: EDG Numbers 96-99

With this schedule, the final payments will coincide with Thanksgiving, providing families with key economic relief during a crucial season for many households. Beneficiaries can check their EDG number on official SNAP documents to verify their exact deposit date.
